Q: How do I set my browser to trust the EZ-Metrix website?
A: Here's how you do it in IE 6.0 (EZ-Metrix supports only Microsoft Internet Explorer at this time):
- Open IE 6.0
- Select "Tools" from the menu
- Select "Internet Options..."
- Select the "Security" tab
- Select the "Trusted sites" icon
- Select the "Sites..." button
- Type in http://www.ezmetrix.com under "Add this Web site to the zone"
- Select the "Add" button
- Select the "OK" button
- Select the "OK" button
Q: How do I set my browser to allow EZ-Metrix ActiveX components to run properly?
A: Yes. EZ-Metrix uses pop-up messages to communicate status to you, and will not run if pop-up windows are blocked. Here's how to disable pop-up blockers. Firewall software should also be disabled, because EZ-Metrix uses scripts which may be considered unsafe to your firewall software. If your firewall program warns you of a potentially unsafe script, when using EZ-Metrix, you should tell your firewall to allow the script to run to completion.
Q: When I run EZ-Metrix on multiple files, sometimes it freezes. What's going on?
A: EZ-Metrix may freeze up if binary or empty files are encountered. Check the files you are asking EZ-Metrix to measure, and make sure none are binary (with file extensions .exe, .dll, etc) and that none are blank. If you find any of these, simply delete them from the text box. You can do this by selecting the file name and entire directory path with your mouse and pressing the Delete key.
